Cookie Policy.
What Source of Hire Recruitment stores in your browser: one strictly necessary session cookie, a few local preferences, and — only if you opt in — anonymous first-party analytics. No advertising, no third-party tracking.

01The short version
This site sets one persistent cookie, and it exists only to keep you signed in. Two further cookies appear briefly during sign-in itself — one while you enter a two-factor code, one during a passkey ceremony — and expire within minutes. If — and only if — you opt in, we also measure anonymous usage (pages viewed, time on page) with our own first-party analytics that never leaves our servers. We use no advertising cookies, no social media pixels, and no third-party tracking of any kind. Nothing about your visit is shared with anyone.
03What we store
soh_session (cookie) — set when you sign in. It keeps you signed in to your account, is marked HTTP-only so scripts cannot read it, and expires after 30 days or when you sign out. This is a strictly necessary cookie: the service you asked for (staying signed in) cannot work without it. If you never sign in, it is never set.
theme (local storage) — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Stays until you clear your browser data.
soh_consent (local storage) — remembers your analytics choice (allowed or essential only), so we don't ask again. Stays until you clear your browser data.
soh_visitor (local storage) — a random identifier, created only if you opt in to usage analytics, so repeat visits count as one visitor. It is deleted the moment you turn analytics off.
soh_mfa (cookie) — set for up to ten minutes while you complete a two-factor sign-in, then cleared. Strictly necessary for that sign-in step; HTTP-only.
soh_wa (cookie) — holds the state of a passkey ceremony for the moments it takes to complete, then expires. Strictly necessary for passkey sign-in; HTTP-only.
That is the complete list.
04Optional usage analytics
If you choose "Allow" on the notice (or turn analytics on in Cookie preferences), our own first-party analytics records:
- The pages you view on this site and when
- How long each page is actually visible on your screen (capped at 30 minutes)
- The site that referred you here, on arrival only
- A coarse device class (mobile, tablet, or desktop)
- The random soh_visitor identifier described above
What it deliberately does not record: your IP address, your browser fingerprint, your account identity (the identifier is never linked to your sign-in), or anything you type. The data is stored only on our own servers, is never shared or sold, and is kept for up to 24 months. You can switch analytics off at any time in Cookie preferences, which also deletes the identifier from your browser.
05What we don't use
- No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics or similar — our optional analytics is built and hosted by us)
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No social media pixels or embeds
- No third-party cookies of any kind
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
- No measurement at all unless you opt in
06Consent
Essential storage needs no consent: the session cookie is strictly necessary to provide the sign-in service you request, which is exempt under UK law (PECR, as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025), and Australian law imposes transparency obligations rather than a banner requirement.
Usage analytics is different: it is off by default everywhere, and only runs after you opt in — the standard the EU and UK require, applied to every visitor. Declining is one click, the same as accepting, and you can change your mind at any time via "Cookie preferences" in the dock.
08Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal. Our analytics is opt-in rather than opt-out, so there is nothing running for these signals to switch off unless you enabled it yourself — and you can disable it again in Cookie preferences.
09Updates to this policy
If we ever add cookies or storage beyond what is listed here, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before doing so.
